Into The Wild

Our clients

OutdoorLife, a premium outdoor equipment brand, sponsored a three-day photographic and video expedition through the dense forests of the Vosges. The goal was to produce authentic and immersive visual content for their seasonal campaign — no staging, fully integrating into the expedition to capture the raw reality of hiking in a forest environment.

From The Field To The Final Cut

Day 01 — Entry point at dawn. First two hours through dense pine forest, minimal light, heavy mist. Some of the strongest frames of the entire project came from this opening stretch before the sun was fully up.

Day 02 — The longest day. Twelve kilometers through mixed terrain — oak forest, rocky ridgelines, a river crossing that was not on the original route. Eighteen hours of footage captured. Three photographs selected from that entire day. Sometimes a hard day does not give you much to work with visually. You bank the experience and keep moving.

Day 03 — Clearer skies, open sections of trail, the group visibly more settled into their bodies and each other. The best portraits of the series came on this final day — people who had stopped performing for the camera two days ago and were simply themselves.

Post Production

Back in the studio, we worked through approximately 900 photographs over five days of selection and editing. The final collection delivered to the client contains 38 images across three categories — landscape, action, and detail — formatted and exported for web, print, and social media use.

The documentary short film runs at four minutes and twenty seconds. It was graded with a cool, desaturated palette in the shadow regions shifting toward deep green, pulling the warmth out of the forest and replacing it with something rawer and more honest. The sound design layers natural ambience recorded on location — wind in the canopy, footsteps on wet leaves, distant water — beneath an original score commissioned specifically for the project.

The client received the full package within three weeks of the final day on the field.
